As a member of the Akisq'nuk Nation of the Ktunaxa people, working with cedar and hardwoods comes natural — reading the grain, and letting the material guide my work, I carve functional pieces of native art to live with.
Every headboard, panel, and flute begins its story as a standing tree and continues its journey as a carved object with its own unique signature. Between the two worlds lies the mill — where I respectfully harvest and mill the wood myself, so that no part of the story is lost.
